Cannabis Buffalo Wings are a fantastic and flavorful munchie for your next 420 celebration. The wings are coated in a delicious, tangy, vinegar sauce from hot peppers. This creates a unique taste that you won’t forget.

For an added touch, consider serving the wings with celery sticks and a blue cheese dressing.

To maximize the experience, I recommend serving bread on the side to soak up every last drop of the sauce.

Cannabutter to Medicate Cannabis Buffalo Wings

I use cannabutter to infuse the cannabis buffalo wings sauce with marijuana.

Learn: How to Make Cannabutter: Your Simple 5 Step Recipe

The cannabis infused butter replaces some (or all if you prefer) of the butter used in a traditional Buffalo Wings recipe.

Each serving of these weed wings will have about 25mg THC per serving. IF you made your marijuana butter from average cannabis (10% THC) and used 1/2 ounce of marijuana to make 1 cup cannabis infused butter.

To learn how to adjust the dosage for your personal needs. Reflect the strength of the marijuana you are cooking with and the amounts used to make your cannabutter!

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 pounds chicken wings
  • oil for deep frying
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper divided
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder divided
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cannabis infused butter
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup vinegar based hot sauce such as Tabasco

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To prepare chicken wings for the Cannabis Buffalo Wings, cut off the wing tip at the first joint using poultry shears or a sharp knife. Cut the wing again at the elbow joint to create “drummettes.” You can discard the tips or save them for another use, such as making chicken stock.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (1/4 teaspoon, more to taste). Thoroughly combine the ingredients.
  3. Use tongs to dip the wings in the flour mixture and lightly coat them. Set them aside on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees F, or heat enough oil to cover the wings in a large deep skillet. Fry the coated wings for about 10 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked. If needed, fry in batches to avoid overcrowding the skillet or fryer. Drain the wings on a wire rack over a baking sheet.
  5. In a large skillet, melt the cannabis-infused butter and regular butter over medium-low heat. Stir in hot sauce, pepper, and garlic powder until the mixture is well blended. Add the fried cannabis buffalo wings to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sauce. Serve immediately with crusty bread to soak up any excess sauce.
  6. Variation: Instead of frying, grill the wings over medium-hot heat for 7 minutes per side or bake them in a 400-degree F oven for 20 minutes or until browned and fully cooked. Continue with the sauce steps as described above.
