INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • Flavor extract of your choice (e.g., cherry, orange, etc.)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Cannabis tincture or decarboxylated cannabis concentrate (e.g., cannabis-infused coconut oil)
  • Lollipop molds
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Candy thermometer

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Before you begin, ensure you have all your ingredients and equipment ready. Infusing cannabis into edibles involves precision, so being organized is key.

  2. If you’re using raw cannabis, you’ll need to activate the cannabinoids through a process called Decarboxylation. Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C), place your cannabis on a baking sheet, and bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. This step is crucial to ensure the cannabis is potent and active.

  3. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and filtered water. Attach the candy thermometer to the side of the saucepan and heat the mixture over medium heat.

  4. Stir the mixture occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely. Once it starts boiling, stop stirring and let it cook until the temperature reaches around 300°F (150°C) on the candy thermometer. This is the hard crack stage.

  5. Once the mixture reaches the desired temperature, remove it from the heat source. Allow it to cool slightly before adding your cannabis tincture or concentrate. The dosage will depend on your preference and tolerance, so be cautious and start with a low dose.

  6. Stir in your chosen flavor extract and, if desired, a few drops of food coloring to give your lollipops a vibrant hue.

  7. Carefully pour the mixture into your lollipop molds. Before the mixture cools and hardens, gently insert lollipop sticks into the molds, ensuring they’re centered.

  8. Allow the lollipops to cool and harden in the molds. You can place them in the refrigerator for faster results.

  9. Once your cannabis lollipops are fully set and cooled. Remove them from the molds and store them in a cool, dry place. Remember to label them clearly and keep them out of reach of children and pets.
